Were Back!!

Okay so it has been well over a year since I made a post. I have been trying to remember all the things that we have done and the things Hayden has said and I can't remember everything. I love being able to go back and read previous post. I am going to try to keep up. Christmas and New Years flew by so fast and we enjoyed all the time with family. I have Christmas pictures that I need to upload to Picasa. I did upload a few from his birthday. Hayden grew up in the last year. From just being able to put sentences together to now talking up a storm.

Hayden surprises me everyday. His favorite things to do now are puzzles, read I Spy books, and play with his trains and cars. We have been working a lot on recognizing letters. He now knows them all!! Now we are learning the sounds. He struggles with remembering them. We do motions to remember the sounds and once I do the motion he can tell me the sound. He is a visual and auditory learner. I had a conference with Hayden's teacher and asked what he needed to work on and she told me that he won't write in school. Hayden does not like to write his name or color at home. So instead we have been working on fine motor activities. I have discovered his favorite is shaving cream.

We have been going to church and Hayden is starting to remember what the lessons are about. He will ask questions about Jesus and sing Jesus Loves Me. I am looking for a kid friendly bible that I can read to Hayden at bedtime, something with a lot of pictures. He loves to look at pictures and describe in detail whats happening. So if you know a good one let me know.

I am applying to Stephen F. Austin to start on a Masters program. I am going to get my Masters in Special Education in Visual Impairment. I will teach students that are blind or with low vision. The only thing I am scared about is learning braille. I will start in the Summer. It is a 36 hour program so I am hoping I can be done in 2 years (3 at the most). I am very excited about it. I think I rushed through college just wanting to get done. Now I can go back and actually enjoy it. I need to finish my application tomorrow.

We have been looking into signing Hayden up for t-ball. His games will start in late March. I think he is going to have a ball! He loves to hit off the T outside. I think the hardest part might be catching the ball with the glove. He lets the ball drop in front of him. We really haven't taught him how to catch.

Here are a few pictures...

Birthday Boy

My baby is turning two. I can't believe it and I am not sure where the time has gone. I am planning his Elmo themed party. He loves Elmo. I can't wait until the house is decorated and he gets to see everything up and ready. His face will be priceless. I am making his cake again. I bought an Elmo cake pan. I am not the greatest when it comes to decorating cakes, so who knows how it will turn out. I have been so busy with school. We had report cards come out last week and now I have been doing meetings and conferences. I had a student bring a picture of us and on the back it said, "Thank you for teaching me". Isn't that the cutest thing ever? I love the kids and silly things they say. Hayden went to the doctor on Monday and we found out that he needs another set of tubes and couldn't hear certain tones and sounds. Please pray for his ears. He has fluid in the left which causes him not to listen for sounds. The right ear is doing all the hearing. Hayden has been wearing pull ups and loves to take them off. He loves the fact that he can pull them up. He tries to put them on himself but puts two feet in the hole. David gave Hayden another haircut. This is Hayden's third haircut. I was loving his curls coming back.

Too Cute

Hayden is a sweet, funny, and very curious at times. He can also be a handful and test you. I have learned through it all just watching him is something I love to do. I never seem to have to camera ready at the right time but I try. Here is Hayden doing some silly things.

Where are you?

It has been a long time since I have blogged. School is really keeping me busy. I leave the house at 6:30 and usually don't make it home until 5. I have been exhausted, by the time we put Hayden to sleep I call it a night. We have been enjoying our home. We hung up pictures and worked a little in Hayden's room. I still need to add some stuff to Hayden's walls they look a little bare. Hayden has been having a blast at school. He learned who Elmo is. He loves to talk about him and likes to see him. I bought he an Elmo shirt and he loves to wear it. We have been doing a lot of cooking around here. On the weekends I try to prepare stuff for the week so that it will make things a little easier. Hayden loves to help. He enjoys putting food in the mixer and watching what happens. He is a great cookie helper which will come in handy in a few months. He has also been helping us clean. He enjoys turning the vacuum cleaner on and off. He got up at 5:30 this morning and we went shopping. I am beat. Here are a few pictures of our big guy. Tomorrow I will add some hilarious videos of him.

Beach Break

Sunday night we went to the beach with David's Family. Hayden loved the sand. He wasn't crazy about the waves. He loved hanging on to David as the waves went by. He enjoyed the last bit of summer vacation we had left. I think we might do this more often. It was a great way to get away and have fun. It made a huge mess in my car, sand was everywhere. I started training this week. I am enjoying getting to know all the new teachers that will be at my school. Hayden has been doing great at daycare. He still is crying when he gets dropped off. We aren't sure what are plans are for this weekend. Maybe we will visit the Children's Museum. On Thursday night they have free family nights for those who want to go. I will be at Parent Orientation that night. David is busy helping out a friend. So Hayden has been missing his Dad. I think tonight we will check out a nature park in Dickinson. We need to do some yard work. I would love to replant a flower bed by the front window.

We reached 200.....

WOW! I can't believe I made it to 200 postings. This is very exciting and encouraging. I love to blog but often find that I repeat the same stuff. I have been going to bed with Hayden and therefore not been able to blog in the evenings. I finished my room and have things together for Parent Orientation which takes place next week. I am very excited and I am not nervous because I feel prepared. I am staying home today while Hayden is at school. I am cleaning up the house. It has become a disaster. We have been in and out so much that we haven't found the time or energy to clean. I kept telling David that we need to hire a cleaning lady, but David says no....I am the cleaning lady. I picked up Hayden from daycare and decided that he needed mommy time (I am feeling GUILTY about leaving him in the mornings, as I walk by the window I see him crying and saying mommy go mommy go). So we took a trip to Kemah. I thought Hayden would loved it. He didn't like it so much we did a lot of walking around and looking at the boats. He loved riding the little boat that gets you over to the Boardwalk. We are planning on taking a trip to Galveston this weekend. We will pack a cooler full of goodies and spend the afternoon there. I finally have a video of him. I am also uploading pictures of him so enjoy all of the silly cheese faces. Please pray for us as I officially start the school year. I will be extremely busy and Hayden will have a long day in daycare. David starts dropping Hayden off in the mornings so I am not sure how that will go. He has never done it before.

School Time

We have been extremely busy. We went to the camp house this weekend Hayden has a blast. He loved the sand at the lake and went down the slides too. He played outside a lot and roasted his first marshmallow. He enjoyed stuffing to many marshmallows in his month. He loved finding the perfect stick to roast with we gave him a few options and he couldn't make up his mind. He started school today. He did okay..... cried a bit but I think it was because he is getting used to staying home with David and I. He loved eating lunch and breakfast there. He was on his best behavior. Amy is with me for a few days to help my in my classroom. I forgot how much work it is to get organized. I got my school supplies in which was exciting. I enjoyed going through them. I get my curriculum books next week, I am so thrilled about that. We are enjoying our last bit of summer time. I took a lot of pictures this weekend of Hayden. I am planning to load them tomorrow night. We are enjoying our house and finally getting things settled. We are going to hang pictures this week so it will feel more like a home too. Hayden's newest word thing is repeating the last word that you say. He is talking a ton. You can understand him which is great. Another thing he likes to do is spin around in circles. When he was spinning last night he fell onto his bed. He got a huge bump on his head which turned into a bruise.
