Baby Update

I have been feeling okay. I am done being pregnant and can't wait until the 7th. My body aches and my hands and feet are swollen all the time. The saying just take it easy and relax doesn't seem to fit in my book. Things around here have been so crazy. We have our house on the market so we have to leave the house often, school, work, and then Hayden. I am usually am on the go from about 6 till after 9. A few weeks ago I went for my last sonogram. It was so different because the baby didn't even fit on the screen. All you could see was body parts and I couldn't make out anything. We didn't get any pictures of his face, he wasn't cooperating. She measured his body and was able to get his weight. He weighed 5 lbs and 7 ounces. The doctor predicated that he would weigh between 6 and half pounds and 7 pounds. I am thinking that he might weight more because I have been putting on a pound a week since then. I have been having contractions and back pain, but I am not dilating yet. We have everything together. The last thing to do is birth certificate paper work, which is hard to do when you don't have a name. Hayden will enjoy his last week at school and then we will both be home until school starts. Hayden seems to be excited about everything and we have been preparing him. I can't wait until we are a family of four, instead of three.

Happy Easter

Hayden had a blast over Easter. I loved it because I got two days off and I got a lot of stuff done around here. Hayden was busy with the cousins, as usual. We made an Easter basket for him and he was excited. I find a lot of stuff when couponing, so I have a stash of things that I use for different occasions. Emily and I stuffed eggs the night before so the kids had about 150 eggs to hunt. They also got to color eggs which Hayden loved. He likes mixing the colors and putting stickers on. He also tried to eat them, which I didn't think was a good idea. We went over to David's grandparents to have an Easter lunch and let the kids hunt eggs. It was fun and it  reminded me of how different things will be. I am trying to soak up all of Hayden before our world completely change.

The Nursery

A few weeks ago I finished the nursery. It turned out really cute. Hayden helped a lot. He helped me put on the  trees and monkeys on the wall. David did most of the work. He put the crib and changing table together. He hung the curtains (it was a lot bigger job then we thought). He moved furniture around until I was satisfied.  I love the furniture and I picked out and made a lot of the bedding stuff. Over spring break, I went to my aunts house and we sewed the bumper pads, crib skirt, and the curtains. I followed a pattern for everything and put the pieces together. I've come to the conclusion that it isn't hard to sew but very time consuming. Ann had Alex's old dresser, it was a light oak color, she stained it and it matches perfectly. I love all the little details that we have in there the lamp and the cork board.  Once we decided on a name, I will hang his name on the wall, just like in Hayden's room.

Rodeo Fun

I have been MIA for a few weeks...let's chalk it down to a busy schedule and life!! So here we go with back tracking.... Over spring break we went to the Rodeo. We had a lot of fun but it was also very exhausting. Hayden loved it and we spent a lot of time at the carnival which he enjoyed. He also got to hold a piglet that was only a few days old. On the tv commercial for the rodeo he saw the pig races so that was a must have for him. I was able to get cheap tickets from school so it was worth it. I think this is something we will do every year. We didn't spend a lot of time with the animals so I think next year we will spend a majority of the time there. Hayden loved these little obstacle courses they had. He must of went through them 5 or 6 times. They also had these big slides that you ride down and he loved that. The last thing he did at the carnival was the rock wall. He tried really hard but only went up half ways, but he was very tired! He was such a trooper there was a lot of walking and he didn't complain. We had to discuss the port a potty situation because he wasn't quite sure what to think about it and couldn't seem to understand why there wasn't a sink and where no way to flush. After the rodeo we had to come home and look up and discuss farm animals.

Baby Shower

On the 10th I had a baby shower. My aunt Marcelle and my two cousins Candace and Lindsey threw a shower for me. The shower was put together so nice. The nursery theme is jungle/safari. They had stuffed animals on the tables as center pieces. The also found the cute muffins tins to put mints and candy in. The other day Hayden and I made muffins and used theme. We played a few games and they made me really think! I loved how everything had something to do with the theme. The had paper lanterns hung up, which now are hanging in the nursery above the rocking chair. The food was great. I loved all the sandwiches and the salad with the raspberry dressing. The cake icing was so yummy. On the cake there were a few animals which now are on the babies dresser. I got a lot of big items for the shower which I needed. It was so nice to have a party and not have to arrange anything. Different family members were there so it was nice to catch up and visit. Hayden came with me and he enjoyed it. He got a box of presents and that was his favorite part. It was so funny when he was reading who it was to. After the shower it put me in go mode. So over spring break I worked a lot on the nursery.

Baby Update

Things are moving along really great with the baby. I am starting to hate being pregnant. I am loving Monday's because that means another week has passed. Last week we actually got a confirmed date for the C-Section which will be May 7th. I was kinda bummed that it wasn't going to be the 9th because that would allow me to work two extra days and be able to have more help with Hayden if we needed it. I think now I am relieved that I won't have to be pregnant for two more days and it looks like Monday will fit David's schedule better. As of now he is schedule to work Monday and Tuesday and will be off on Wednesday and Thursday. He is planning on using vacation and comp time on Monday and Tuesday. We should be home by Wednesday morning at the latest. I hate being in the hospital so I hope I recover fast and can come home quick. I want to have my new little family home and get adjust to everything at home. We have some plans lined out for Hayden. Having family here helps make things a lot easier this time around. Everyone has volunteered to take Hayden while we are at the hospital, but I want Hayden there with us. I think this will be a huge adjustment for all and I want him close. I don't want him to feel like we are abandoning him while we have a baby. Seeing Hayden excited about everything when we went to register was priceless and having him in the mix of all of the new baby stuff is so worth it. I can't wait to see his face when he holds the baby for the first time. He loves picking out baby brothers clothes and wants to try all of the baby gear to see if he can use it and help baby brother. In April, I will make a count down of days because Hayden ask all the time. We have been asked if we have any names yet and sadly we have a few favorite but nothing for sure. I am hoping in the 3 weeks we can have something official. David has been really great at getting all of the big stuff together and helping with nursery. I think he is understanding that I am feel the pressure and want the nursery checked off my list. I am in the nesting phase and messes are driving me nuts! I think it annoys David more then me because I want to clean but get tired so fast, so I start and don't finish. I have been preparing meals for when we come home. Once or twice a week I cook extra of a meal and then freeze it. I haven't done this before but I've been reading up on what to do. I am hoping that I will have about 2 weeks of meals saved up.

Time Flies

Man, I can't believe that it has been 20 days since my last post! I don't know where the time goes but I blink my eyes and then it is time for bed. Last week, was spring break and lot happened then and news about the baby occurred last week too. I am going to start with today and update you on what is happening now and back track until I think I am caught up with everything I want to post about.

Okay, so a few weeks ago David and I decided that we think we should sell the house and look for something bigger...room to grow?! As it is we are right on top of each other and I can't imagine how much smaller the house will feel when the baby comes. So we have been working on getting the house ready to list. We are meeting with the Realtor on Wednesday so we are thinking that she will list it sometime by the end of the week. We have had so many little projects to do. Every room in the house has something that needs work from touch up paint to being clear of clutter. We worked this whole weekend on different projects around the house. I am the type of person that wants to finish a room and then move on to a different project. David likes to work on the big projects and then do the little ones next. It is making me go crazy because every room in the house isn't done. We have Hayden's room and his bathroom completed. I need to do some cleaning in them but overall I can check it on my list. In the master bedroom and bathroom is almost done except for moving things around and some stuff to the garage. The baby room is coming along. David put the crib together on Monday so I have been trying to finish all of the little things. We hung the curtains today and it looks so cute! I almost finish sewing the bumper pads and once that is done the crib will be finished. Hayden and I planted flowers in the beds on Saturday. We even have a few vegetables and strawberries planted in a bed in the back yard. Hayden is very excited about that. He can't wait to see them grow and wants to check on them to see if anything is happening. I keep telling him it will take time.
