Oh, I think I pretty much decided not to write this post because I am not at the place where I can say I have a one year old, but as the month went by it needed to get done. I am not enjoying it but as I say all the time....it is what it is!
So since David's work schedule doesn't always fit with my plans we had to make due. His party would have been sooner but I couldn't plan a party and do finals in the same week! So on his actually birthday the 7th I made his favorite meal chicken Parmesan and spaghetti. He ate the same size piece that Hayden ate! We followed that with cake. I actually wanted to do a cake smash and take pictures but he didn't really get into the smashing part. I had to help him and then he wasn't to sure. He liked the icing but as he got into the cake he ate a little. These pictures need to be edited but that is a job for David which in that case will come MUCH later.
The day of his party was spent rushing around getting things prepared but overall it was so worth it. We tried to plan his party around his naps but that didn't work because he took too many short naps instead of a long one. He was crabby for most of his party. He loved playing outside and watching everyone play. He had a sailing theme for his party...it turned out cute. I made a sailboat cake and jell-o cups full of ocean creatures. I made the cutest party hat but wasn't to crazy about keeping on! He had a pool and after everyone left went swimming and then through huge fit when we had to go inside. He loved the brisket and grapes for lunch. He got clothes and toys and lots of loving from family holding and kissing on him.
At 12 months, Ethan weighs 23 pounds and can drink whole milk! He loves to chase balls and push cars or trucks around the house. He can sleep through the night when he wants and is down to three bottles a day only at nap time or night. He loves to drink water from a sippy cup...he doesn't really care for milk in it. He can say bye bye, up, boo, mama, dada, ni ni (night night) and something I can't make it out but I've come to the understanding it means Hayden or brother. When you say, do you want some milk he will stop and look around for a bottle. He likes to dance on his own terms. He can walk and has been doing so for about a week and half. If he can't make it there fast enough he will crawl. He hates diaper changes and getting dressed because he has to stop what he is doing. He loves to be outside and pop bubbles. He smiles a lot and has the cutest laugh. He has 8 teeth and more on the way. His eyes are still blue and he hasn't grown much hair.
Happy Birthday to my sweet growing up to fast mama's boy who loves to play hide-n-seek!
