Where Are You

I have been getting a lot of calls of people wondering if we are okay. Yes, we are fine. We are in the process of making decisions about the future. Hayden is doing great. He has learned so much and talking up a storm. He loves to call me mama. His favorite thing right now is to read books. He has a Sesame Street book that has the different body parts. He gives Big Bird high fives because he has his hand in the air. He loves to point to his noise when Elmo points to his. The other day he pointed at a bus magnet and said bus. I am not sure where he has seen a bus but he knew what it was. We have been going to the park at least twice a week. Hayden loves it. He is a duck feeder. He will run and chase the ducks. We gave up the cable and I haven't watch tv for a few weeks now. I miss the background noise. I have been playing music. I need to get a radio so I can listen to KLOVE.

More Skittles

Today, I drove home from Houston. I would have driven back yesterday but I got sick. So I called into work. So anyways....I always have a bag of snacks packed. I was in a rush to leave this afternoon because I wanted Hayden to take his afternoon nap on the way home. So I didn't pack a huge snack bag. I had some crackers and Cheetos some of Hayden's favorites. On the way home the last 30-45 minutes he started to get kind of crabby. So I was searching for something to give him. I carry a toy bag in the car. It has different stuff in it. Hayden is only allowed to play with the toys in the car. He didn't want anything from the bag (no colors, books, a new DVD). He was just fussing and telling me all kinds of stuff. I had a bag of skittles. I gave Hayden a tiny piece of one. He ate that quickly. So then I bit one in half. He chewed that for a few minutes and asked for more. The skittles were a life saver! I loved the fact that he could have half of one and was content. It made the drive more peaceful. We made it home in 3 hours and 15 minutes. That is a record for us, no stopping either. YEAH!!! Hayden has been so adventurous. He can climb out of bed all by himself now. This is scary because if I forget to close the bathroom door he climbs on to the toilet then into the sink. I am afraid he is going to fall and hit his head. He loves to pull out all of the food from the fridge in search for something "good". He recently started to climb the pantry. (He sees my doing it all the time). Yesterday David and Micah were playing around punching each other, Hayden was watching them. He came over to me put his hand in a fist and started to punch me. I was so shocked how quickly he learned that.

Precious one

Oh how wonderful it is to know how Leah is doing. I get caught up in my day to day stuff and before I know it, the end of the month is here. I love to see e-mails from New Day. They hold so much value and treasure for us. Hopefully when we turn 30 we can bring a precious China baby home. Leah is doing great! She is preparing for her adoption. This a bittersweet time. I am so happy and grateful that some family want her for a daughter, yet I will miss the pictures and updates. I am hoping that one day we will meet. I think David would enjoy seeing her since he picker her. I have a cute picture that I will upload latter tonight. Hayden has been doing good. I have been watering his bottle down at night and since then he has gotten up more to eat. I am guessing he is hungry instead of just a habit. I might try ensure or something to that nature to fill him up more. I am extremely tired. Hayden got up at 4 this morning. So tonight I have a feeling we will both be in bed by 7.

15th month Check-up

David and I took Hayden to his doctor appointment. This was a well-check up. It has been a long time since we have been to the doctor for a checkup. The doctor said he is doing great. He is a growing boy who loves to eat. She knows us so well since we are in there all the time. The only thing Hayden didn't know was where were a few of his body parts are. I guess the teacher in me thinks we need to practice more. It is hard to stop being a teacher when you are a parent. I am finding it difficult drawling the line somewhere. Anyways I thought Hayden had a growth spurt because his pants are getting short. He did, he is 33 inches long and weighs 27 pounds. He is in the 90th percentile for height and 75 for weight. He is going to be like his dad. YEAH!!! I am glad he won't be a short kid. Today Hayden and I went to the fresh market to get our fruits and veggies. We saved 15 dollars by not going to the grocery store. I love to buy things that grow from this area. Hayden can eat two pounds of grapes a week. He is not even home for 10 meals during the week. Hayden loves grapes. He is a great eater (the doctor said that I am lucky to not have a picky eater). Hayden will try anything a few times. Hayden went to bed all by himself. We have been working on that and he is doing great. He doesn't cry for us he usually will talk to himself until he falls asleep.
