Dr. Vists and the Dentist

Yesterday, I spent most of the morning finding and researching Pediatricians and Pediatric Dentist. I found some. Although his doctor wasn't my number one pick, she was number two. They both work at the same clinic but he wasn't accepting new patients. Hayden has a check up next week and his first Dentist appointment in three weeks. I think I am going to love his dentist. His website had so much knowledge for me. I am excited to take him. I don't want to be one of those dorky moms taking pictures of all of his first. I am finding out that I am! I carry the camera in my purse. I hope the dentist understands. In Midland there wasn't that many Pediatricians accepting new patients but here it seems that there is an abundance. Hayden is adjusting to being in daycare. The rules are a little different here then they are in Texas. Hayden is the youngest one in his class and it goes up two years. All of the little girls baby him. They give him the toys and attempt to love on him. It is so cute. Hayden loves it. Since he is in a new environment he hasn't been taking a morning nap and is being crabby when he gets home. Last night he went to bed at 6:30 and tonight 8 and he even took a nap for an hour. Today was my first day. I think I am going to have a blast once I get a plan going. I have 8 kids and they are the cutest thing every. I forgot that they say the silliest things. It is so hard not to laugh when they are trying to tell you something important.

A Lot to Do

We are having a blast here. We have been here a week and during that time it has rained 4 of the 7 days. I a sick of the rain. Well today David informed me of the average rainfall in Midland was 15 inches a year and in Lafayette it is 65. Then he decided to explain the amount it increased to and what percentage it was. I guess his engineer mind is at work. We have taking a few pictures of Hayden.

My computer charger broke, so it will be a week or two before I can put any pictures on to the blog. I tried to find pictures that you can see Hayden top tooth coming in. I guess I though I took several of those but can't find them. Last night I made a pudding pie and I let Hayden help. He loved the whipped cream lid. He is so funny. He kept on licking the lid, when there wasn't anything on it. He looked so confused because he knew he had just ate some. He was trying so hard to find the whipped cream.

Hayden starts his first day at daycare tomorrow. I start work on Tuesday. David is going to go survival training in the morning. We are having a lot of fun trying new restaurants here. There are so many places to choose from. We are now looking for a new church to go to. There are so many choices here. We are going to try to come to Houston for Ava's birthday, but it depends if David is going off shore.

Found a Job

I found a teaching job. I am going to be teaching kindergarten at a private school. I think I am going to like it. Hayden will start school there when he is 3 instead of 4, which I love. He has a birthday in October but he can start early if he meets the requirements. I want to go check out the library here and see what things they offer for him. Everything is happening so fast. I went and visited daycare's today. I found one that I like. The best part was they had an outside area for kids Hayden's age. They had a little swing set so that they could swing. It is really nice here, so many trees and grass. I been wanting to taking pictures outside with Hayden. Maybe we will get a chance to visit a park this weekend. I think the town is bigger then Midland, we have a super Target! Hayden's top tooth is coming in and he looks so cute. He has been walking a ton. Hayden gets so excited when David comes in from work. He will run to him with his hands in the air. Hayden has been waving hi and bye. I have been trying to catch it on video, but no success. During the move we decided to trade in both of our cars and bought a Ford Explorer. I love it, it was my first new car so there were a lot of decisions to make. David got a really good deal because he works for Baker Hughes so he was able to get a percentage off the price of the car. I am looking at Pediatricians and Pediatric Dentist here. Hayden needs to go to the dentist around his birthday. He is growing so fast. It is hard to believe that in 2 months he will be a year old. I am not sure where the time went, it flew by.

Were Here

We are finally done unpacking and settled. Karen and Micah came to help us unpack. We had a rough drive. It was so long. We ended up leaving Midland about 11 on Sunday and got to Houston about 10:30. Hayden did really well for about 6 hours. Once we go to Centerville he started getting crabby. He really has been good and is adjusting well. He is walking a lot now. I think he knows this is home now, because he is recognizing all of his toy. He is beginning to walking from room to room. I have two interviews tommorw one at a Mother's Day Out and another teaching Pre-school at a state funded daycare. I am going to go check them out and maybe decided. I am not sure yet. David is going to start work on Thursday. I think he is ready to go back. Tommrow we are going to go exploring to see what we find. Our apartment is down the street from Walmart. I am not sure if that is a good thing. I will be there all the time.

Packing

We are packing; which I hate. We are trying to be done by late Friday. We are going to pack up the truck on Saturday. We haven't found a place in Lafayette yet. We have narrowed down our choices. We were looking into rent houses but it takes to long to get the background and credit check processed. I think we are going to sign a 6 month lease then buy a house we aren't sure yet. I am not sure how long it will take for us to get to know the city and find a school for Hayden. We will probably do a private school at age 3. There is a lot of stuff to do in a short amount of time. We bought Hayden a bigger car seat. I hope it helps with the long trip. We are going to try to leave at 3 or 4 Sunday morning so that Hayden can sleep some. David will start working late next week. I am slowly getting excited about this new adventure. I think I am going to enjoy living there.

Were Moving

David got an offer to transfer. So we decided to go ahead and move. The transfer is a promotion. He will be a district engineer. We are moving to Lafayette, Louisiana. We should be there by the first of September, or sooner. David will be leaving sometime this week to find us a place to live. I am quitting my job. I will be giving my resignation in the morning. We have a lot to do in a short amount of time. I will be staying home with Hayden. I am not sure for how long. If y'all know me, you know I can't stay home. So I am sure I will be trying to find something quickly. I think part time. I can teach a few days week then stay home with Hayden. I am looking into teaching at a Mother's Day Out Program. Hayden has his doctor appointment so pray that it goes well. Maybe moving will help David and Hayden''s allergy issues.

More Videos

I think everyone is enjoying the videos of Hayden, so here is one more.

It is hard to believe that he is walking that much. I am not ready for it. Although he knows that crawling is faster. He is trying so hard to walk. We usually have to tempt him with something, food always works. David and I have been so busy working. I have been going to these great training sessions for pre-school I love it. I am having a lot of fun learning again. I can't wait until I can try these things on my students. Hayden has had 2 ear infections in a month so we are going to go see an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor. I hope he has some suggestions and things we can do to help prevent them. For some reason he is fine during the day but at night his ears bother him. He is pulling the left one constantly until he falls asleep. I am not sure if it has something to do with us bathing him before bed. Maybe we aren't cleaning them good to drain the water who knows. Hayden's Pediatrician moved back to Lubbock. I am so sad, she is a really good doctor.

Kisses for all

My baby boy is giving kisses. I have been working with him on giving and blowing kisses. Today when we were driving home from shopping he kept on making a kissing sound. He is so cute, well I got a video of it. There is also a another video of him taking more steps. He is getter braver each day and taking more steps. I think in a month he will be running. It is back to work for me tomorrow. I am sad and excited. I want to go learn but I am going to miss my boy. The summer has been fun. Now that he is older it is getting harder to leave. He knows when you are gone and gets excited when he sees you. Yesterday when I picked him up from the nursery at church he was laughing and kicking his legs. I hope that yall are enjoying the pictures and videos.

Children Museum

I finally took Hayden to the Children museum. I had been wanting to take him for a while now. They have a tot spot. There was so much stuff for him to climb and get into. My favorite was the tug boat. It is made of wood and big enough for a few people. It would be neat to have David build him one for his room. He loved it. He would crawl to it and stand up to drive. Another thing he loved was a wall with Velcro that had shapes that he could pull off and put into a circle thing. He loved pulling them off and dropping them. I would love to put something like that in a playroom for Hayden. I can't wait until we can afford a 5 bedroom house for me to set up a playroom all teacher like. They also had some tunnels that he could crawl through. It took him some time to figure out that they weren't just for climbing.
They also had the Dino dig open. This has bones of dinosaurs and the kids use shovels to dig for the bones.
I didn't know how Hayden would react with the sand. He wasn't sure what to do with it. The good thing was that he didn't eat it. I got the cutest picture of him exploring the sand.

Taking Steps

I finally got Hayden on video. He only took one step here. I am trying to catch him taking a few more. It is funny because when we don't have the camera around he will take 5 or 6 steps. Today he walked from David to me and took 7 steps. That was the most so far. As you can see he loves to knock over his table. He loves to pick up things and throw them. His favorite is the dump truck and then tries to pull it while attempting to walk, sometimes crawl. He is so strong. He gets mad when you hold down the object because he knows he can pick it up. David and I are having a lot of fun playing with him. Today we played hide-n-seek. We would take turns hiding and Hayden would crawl or walk along the wall to find us. I was hiding in the hall and he crawled straight to the kitchen to look for me. I think he thinks I am always in there.
