Firsts

Hayden has been doing so many things. He has a couple of first that happened yesterday. Hayden never lets me cut his nails while he is awake. He ususally tries to grab the clipper when I cut his nails. I was able to cut both hands in one sitting. Hayden is always eager to eat or drink what ever we eat. I was eating a peach and Hayden was screaming. So I figured he wanted a bite. He did,

He loved it! The juice was running all down his shirt, he loved turning the peach and finding new places to chew.
Today Hayden crawled to follow David into the bathroom and stood up at the door and took about 6 wobbly steps to get to me. He is also always saying bye. I am sure he doesn't know what it means but he is trying. It is funny because any time I say something he echos me with the same expression. He tries so hard to repeat things.

Look at Me

We have been having a lot of fun! Hayden is so busy and always on the go. He loves to be chased, he tries to run and hide from us in his room. Today I actually taped him playing with his truck and talking. It turned out really cute. David has enjoyed us being home. I think he loves the fact that lunch and dinner are ready. Heather came over today so I could go get some paperwork done. Hayden really missed me. As soon as I left he was looking for me and saying ma ma. When he woke up from his nap he was shocked Heather was there instead of me. Next week it is back to work. I think he is going to have a difficult time at daycare. I guess we will wait and see. On Saturday, David and I are going to go set up my classroom. I can't wait. I took Hayden there yesterday and he had so much fun. He was pulling stuff off from shelves and playing with all of the toys.

Walking

While we were in Houston Hayden took his first steps. We were at Joe and Karen's and he was standing up then took a couple of steps then started to crawl. We were all so excited. Since we have gotten back he will walk from the couch to the coffee table. It is only a couple of inches away when he stretches his hands out. We have been making him walk from us. He usually will walk a few steps and then give up and crawl. Since I am off we might try go to the Children Museum. They have a great room for toddlers. There is so much from him to crawl through and from. They have a lot of things for him to try to walk. Today when we were cleaning Hayden took his dump truck and pushed it back and forth in the living room. He hasn't figured out how to steer yet.

Home again

We made it home late last night. Hayden and I didn't land until 11:15. We were all so tired. Hayden slept really well last night. The night before he was up all night. My mom and I ended up taking him to the doctor. He had fluid in his left ear. The doctor drained the fluid, he was so much calmer after that. It really helped. David really missed us. When we got off the plane Hayden was awake and had the biggest smile when he saw David. He really missed him. On the way home from the airport Hayden stared at David the whole time. We are all doing really good. We are so tired. I am going to try to put up the pictures from our trip on here, either tonight or tomorrow. I need to do some updating. We had a blast visiting family it was so good to be home. Also since we don't visit Houston that much I am going to make a matching game for Hayden. I am going to get pictures of everyone so that we can work on recognizing our family.

Shopping

We came into town on Friday. We are having so much fun! Aunt Ann and Amy love spending time with Hayden. They all think he is a good baby. They are finding out that he loves to eat and makes a big mess when he does. It is so nice to be home, although I wish David were here with us. We are enjoying all of the shopping here. Yesterday, we went to a jewelry store. I bought a lot of stuff. The store was huge; we ended up spending 3 hours just looking at jewelry. Tomorrow we are going to go to the Galleria. I am so excited about that. We don't have many stores to choose from in Midland so I like to go shopping here. I am really excited about shopping at Forever 21; they always have great deals on clothes and stuff I like. For Hayden I love The Children's Place. We are thinking about going to a small water park. I think Hayden will love it. He loves to take baths and play in the water. We will have to wait and see.

I Can Walk

Yesterday we went to Toysrus. We always go about once a month. Now that Hayden is mobile our choice of toys are very different. It is actually getting exciting browsing the toy aisle and getting to chose. I think I was more excited then Hayden was. He finally decided on a dump that he can push around. He loves it. He has been pushing it into everything. It has Lego's and I stack them up and he knocks them down. He has been standing and walking while pushing everything. He loves to push the laundry basket. If I would let him he would push the vacuum cleaner. Today when I dropped him off at daycare he was holding my hand and just walking to get to the table to eat breakfast. I have been on the search for wide width shoes. I haven't had any luck. If anyone knows where I can find some shoes for him let me know. He has really wide feet. Right now he is wearing a 4. We will be leaving Friday to go to Houston. I will be spending Friday there and stay there until Thursday morning. We are going to stay with my aunt and sister. Grandma Husenica is moving back to St. Louis in August. We aren't sure when we will see here again. Then on Thursday we will be going to Friendswood to visit grandparents there. We will fly out Friday evening. It will be fun. I am excited!

ER Visit

We spent last night in the ER. Hayden was running a fever on Friday when we picked him up from daycare. We thought maybe he is getting teeth or just got a little bug. He slept 3 hours at daycare and came home and slept 2 more. We knew something wasn't right. We finally ruled out teething because Hayden hasn't ran fever when he was teething. The only time he has had a fever is when he had an ear infection. We figured we should take him in so he could get on antibiotics and get to feeling better. We didn't want to have to wait till Monday. His doctor office is open on the weekends but his pediatrician wasn't there so our only choice was the ER. The ER doctor said his left ear was red and he has a sore throat. He though it might be strep but the test came back negative. He seems to be feeling a little better today. For some reason he doesn't want to go to sleep and has been fighting it. David and I haven't had any decent sleep for the past two nights. I am praying that tonight he will sleep. I am thinking that it hurts his ear. When he hold him up or rock him he has no problem, it is just when he lay him down. One good thing health wise is that we haven't given Hayden a breathing treatment in two months. We are slowly going to stop his Singular.

In the Paper

I have been working at summer camp this week. We have been focusing on sensory integration. Most of the kids I work with have problems with certain smells and touching various things. We are always advertising and trying to get into the Midland newspaper. Many people will donate money to our school when they hear about the services we offer. Well a student of mine and I made it to the front page of the paper yesterday. It was very exciting to see my face representing my school. A lot of people have be e-mailing me and telling me how good I looked. At Hayden's daycare they were saying I saw you in the paper. It was neat to be on the front page! I am going to try to scan it and put it on the blog for everyone to see. David did a search of the paper to see if I made it to the website. It didn't since it wasn't an article, just a picture.

Coming to Visit

Amy my sister, flew from Houston to stay with us for a couple of weeks. It is nice to see her. She has been such a big help. She is always asking what can I help you with. Dale and Sara yall raised a good kid. She is always welcomed here. We went shopping yesterday. Hayden was such a trooper. Although every time we got in the car he fell asleep. He really didn't have a good nap. I figured he would crash when we go home. Nope he was in a good mood all day. Amy and I tried to put some locks on the cabinets but we gave up. David is going to finish today. Hayden has been trying to get into every cabinet. He stands up and gets stuff from the back. We are all doing good. Yesturday, we also went to church. I was so excited to go. I haven't felt excited to go to church in a long time. At Stonegate they have a great Praise and Worship team and the preacher preaches things we need to hear. I love it. Next week I am going to sign my paper work for MISD. I am excited about that. I am also very sad to be leaving my kids. I have two more weeks until I am done. The school year has passes so quickly.

Happy 4th of July

Well its Fourth of July. We went out to eat today. We actually went at dinner time. We usually go before or after the dinner crowd because we have to time it right with Hayden. Hayden did so good. He sat in his high chair and just ate. I told David that Hayden is going to be the kind of kid that would do anything for food. He is beginning to eat some solid foods. He likes to eat toast and cookies. I am not sure what food we will try next. He is so funny. Every time someone opens the door to the pantry, Hayden stops what he is doing and crawls into the kitchen. I think he thinks every time it opens it is time to eat. He is always eating. I am not sure if he ever feels full. He hasn't slept through the night for a while now. He wants to eat. I can't blame him. He is a growing boy. We put a pillow in his crib because he loves to fall asleep on David's pillow. We have been patting him down in out bed and then moving him to his crib. We used to walk or rock him but he is getting to heavy now. Hayden will now hold my hands and walk with help. I keep on trying to only guide him with one hand, but he takes a couple of steps and then gives up. We have been busy with this house stuff. I am also trying to figure out what class I want to take in the fall. I am not sure if I can handle a class during the week. I am thinking maybe on Saturday or online. I have always loved online classes.

Looking at a Model Home

Tomorrow we are going to look at a model home in Greenwood. We have been talking to the builder to find out what things they offer with the house. One thing that we like is that we get to customize the house by choosing tile, carpet, blinds, appliances, fixtures, counter tops and cabinets. It makes the house seem like ours. It will be neat to have a choice of things we want so we can personalize it. My favorite thing about the houses is that all of them come with a island in the kitchen. There are many upgrades that you can choose from. I am not sure how many upgrades that we will choose but one that I think is a must to have in Midland it R/O water and water softener which is 2,000 dollars. The price for square feet is a little high. We are thinking it is because you get an acre of land with it. We really don't have anything to compare it to, to see if it is a good investment. The builder has four floor plans to choose from ranging from 155,900 to 197,900. We want a four bedroom house so I think we might spend more money to buy something we want. The con to having a home built out there is that it will take 4-6 months to complete. So we are hoping to get the process started by August. It would be nice to have Christmas in our new house. Tomorrow I will write more when I ask a ton of questions. Please pray that we are led in the right direction and are using the right people in this wonderful adventure that we are blessed with.
