Melon Man

I have missed blogging this week. I find myself saying that would be good to blog about on any given day. The first thing is that Hayden LOVES trying new food. He is such a good eater. I don't think I am going to complain when he chooses to have a cookie before dinner, like last night. I made fish and couscous. He hasn't really had any of that before so I figured we could try. So we did! He ate every bit of it. Almost as much as me! I was cutting up a honeydew melon and he wanted some. Between the both of us we ate half of it in one sitting. I am not sure if he is growing or what but for lunch he ate 2 pieces of pizza, bowl of fruit, an orange, fruit strip, rice crispy treat, and had a bottle of water to drink. I put a 2t shirt on him today, the selves were a little long but it fit every where else. David has been so busy bidding and building fences. I feel like we haven't seen him all week. I hope it doesn't rain this weekend because Hayden needs some time playing outside. We have been indoors so much lately. Maybe it will be a good weekend for the Zoo? It will be fun taking him there. Hayden has enjoyed throwing the ball for Holly. I was reading that he should of learned to throw underhand first but he always throws overhand. We are looking into some type of activity for him. He is such a boy that he needs ways where it is okay to run around, scream, push, and play. Swimming lessons is a must for this summer but we need something else too. Anyone with any ideas....

A New Room

David has been bugging me he needs a space for his office. Somewhere to set up all his business stuff. He tried setting up a desk in the bedroom. Every time Hayden would climb on to the table and bang on the computer or pull the papers down. So it never worked. Since Hayden sleeps with us we used Hayden's room as his office. We moved all of Hayden's toys to the living room. I wasn't to sure about this. I am enjoying it now. I love to have Hayden playing when I am in the kitchen. I can watch him and spend more time with him. Yesterday I had a meeting after work so David picked Hayden up from daycare. He was so happy to see his dad. He ran and gave him a huge hug! David had Hayden asleep by the time I got home. It was so nice to come home to a clean and peaceful house. I missed Hayden because I didn't get to spend much time with him though. I am working for a few hours on Saturday so I don't know what we have planned yet. Probably the park and maybe shoe shopping for Hayden. I need to take some pictures of him. He has picture day at school on Wednesday so I am excited about that. Hayden has 6 teeth coming in at the same time. I can't believe that he doesn't seem bothered by it. Tonight he wanted to slept in the crib that is in our room. He climb in and out of the crib a few times before he crashed on me. I have been moving him to his crib every night but he hasn't made it the whole night yet.

I'm Not Ready

Yup....that's what I said as we walked to the chair and Hayden was placed in the seat. He started to cry and get scared so David held him while I was armed with the camera to capture his very first hair cut. As the lady asked if we were ready a lot of thoughts swarmed through my mind. All of the baby things Hayden did and finally realizing that this day would mark the day that I don't have a baby but a toddler. Not to mention that he is exactly 18 months old. I wanted to cry and tell the lady no and leave. David was the saving grace and quickly said Nicole its time. So they chopped off a few curls and I saved a little....(okay a lot of hair). They even used hair clippers on him to trim the hair around the ears. He looks like a big boy....it totally changed him. His hair is still curly though. He has a few curls in the back that won't straighten out. David and I also wanted to take him to Chuck E Cheese to let him play and ride a few rides. It rained so bad here that we couldn't, the streets were flooded. On a lot of streets you couldn't see the median or get across. The Easter pictures are on David's computer but I have uploaded the hair cut pictures. Here is a before and after of him. Enjoy....

I also found the cutest sandals for Hayden that actually fit him.

NO NO NO

Okay.....this is Hayden's favorite word lately. Tonight I was fussing at him for pulling at the blinds. I told him no and shook my finger near his face. He looked at me stuck out his finger and waved it back at me and said NO! I died laughing needless to say he didn't understand that time. So we are enjoying the precious moments with him. He has been so cute and kind. He loves to have kisses given to him. At night I will tell him tell Daddy night night and give him a kiss and hug. He looks forward to it and runs to David to receive loving. Hayden loves to stick things down his shirt. I am not sure why but it is funny to see him try. At school he walked around with a dinosaur down his shirt. He is finally off the bottle. He has been off it for a week. He is still sleeping with us...at times I enjoy but wish I didn't have someone stealing my pillow. I love the cuddling though. In May I think we will start with him taking naps in his bed then sleeping in it a couple of hours at night. So that will be a tough adventure. He did so good in his bed in Lafayette.

Happy Easter

Hayden had a blast on Saturday and Sunday. He loved finding the eggs and eating the candy inside. He would pick up an egg then bring it to you so he could eat the candy. He never understood that he could eat it later. My mom bought him an Easter basket and filled it with goodies. On Sunday we went to church with Mimi and Pop then had Easter lunch over there. Hayden loved the ham and rolls that Mimi made. We went over to Joe and Karen's to dye eggs. He loved putting the stickers on the eggs. I have a ton of photos from Easter. I will put them up tomorrow. Hayden is so cute and lovable at this age. I love to love on him.....when he lets me. On Friday, we went to the doctor for his shots and his 18 month check up. He is at the 75 percentile for everything. I can't believe that he is 34 inches tall. He is growing so fast. It is almost time for a new car seat. We haven't even had this one for a year. It is crazy....His feet are growing too. I am having a hard time keeping up with his growing. I always buy stuff ahead of time for him. This allows me to not pay full price for things. I haven't been bargain shopping lately and he is running out of shoes to wear. I am trying to find a pair of sandals for him. His feet are so chunky on top that he can't get them on. I have been so busy working and doing lesson plans. I have been exhausted. I am not used to working late and long hours. I like my school hours 7-3 a lot better. I have been going to bed at 8 when Hayden goes to bed. That is my reason for not blogging at night. Hopefully we can do something fun the weekend like a picnic in the park, go to the beach, or to the zoo.

Obsession

As you may already know Hayden LOVES gloves or socks. Really he has an obsession to anything you can put on your hands. I am not sure why he likes it or where he has seen it but I cracked up looking at old videos. I really don't post videos to often because they take a long time to load but this was worth it!

Dr. Dr.

We have had a long weekend. Hayden has been so sick. Not to mention we had to go the urgent care center yesterday! Hayden has been sick since Tuesday morning. The good thing is we have been to the doctor 3 times this week. So here is the short version of the story. Hayden has a bad cough which turned in to a running yucky nose, which then drains in his ears to cause an ear infection. Well during all of this he fell at church and hit a table. His eyebrow was cut pretty bad ans it didn't stop bleeding. Around two David and I decided it was stitch time. We weren't sure how deep or bad the cut was. We tried put a band aid and medicine at home. That didn't work because he ripped it off. So we spent two hours there at the urgent care place to get some glue on his eyebrow. He has a bruise and a cut on his eyebrow. Well last night Hayden maybe slept 5 hours compared to his 10. We knew something was wrong but we weren't really sure. The only thing that calmed him down was his David walking with him around the room. Hayden is so heavy at 30 pounds that you can't do that for long. He finally went to sleep at 5 and slept till 7. When I was putting him down for his morning nap I saw green stuff all over the pillow case. I just assumed Hayden wiped his nose there. Nope I was wrong lots of fluid came from his ears. No wondered he didn't want the teething tablets last night it wasn't his teeth it was his ear. It is always the same ear every time. Needless to say I have been staying home with him. David is so busy fencing. I so happy that David has been staying busy and all the bidding is finally paying off. I have updated Picasa for y'all so enjoy but through all of the sickness Hayden did give me a cheese face smile. I hope the new picture puts a smile on your face because I crack up every time I see it. Hayden is also saying funny words now and will repeat the same sounds you make. It is not so cute when he is in trouble.

I can do it

I always try to write things that are about Hayden and what is going on with us. After Hayden was born I struggled a lot on finding time to do everything. I always feel that there is never enough time to do it all. When I working it feels like I should be staying home with him. I hate having to see him cry when I make dinner or running errands. I have been praying a lot for God to give me peace. After 17 long months its has finally happened. I finally understand that I don't have to make every meal from scratch or feel bad for working. Hayden was sick today so I stayed home with him. We spent a lot of quality time together. I realized I don't have to been a great housekeeper all the matters is my family. The weight and pressure are gone and I feel new again. I am enjoying all the little things now. For instance Hayden wanted to give me a high five so he opened my hand and held it up or how he wants me to hold him like a baby. Hayden has a bad cough so pray that he is healed and is feeling like himself again.
