First Halloween

This week went fast. Tomorrow Hayden will have his first Halloween party. He is having one at his daycare. It is also pj day too. He is going to wear his flannel car pajamas. I am going to try to get a few pictures before he goes to school. I have taken some pictures of him playing with his birthday presents. We got him this radio flyer toy for his birthday. He is now trying to push himself around on it. He loves to stand on the seat and push the buttons. He has been so tired lately. This week he has gone to bed at 7:30. I think he is going through a growth spurt. He is eating a lot. The other night he woke up 3 times for milk. He ate a whole slice of pizza, a can of pears, and a handful of Cheetos. He has been cleaning his plate and asking for more. I think he feels heavier now. I made homemade cupcakes and icing for my kids at school. I don't think that we are going to go trick-or-treating. We might go to a fall festival here in town instead. A girl in my class mom invited us over to their house to go trick-or-treating. The cold weather has been nice. It has warmed up in the afternoon making it a beautiful day. I think we might go the the park tomorrow. We aren't really sure what our plans are for this weekend. I am hoping that we can go to church on Sunday. Sickness and David working has made us not able to attend in a few weeks.

Flu Shot

Today, Hayden and I went to go get a flu shot. We had to go to this pharmacy because his doctors office doesn't give them out. He was so good. The pharmacist was an older man and loved Hayden. He was telling me he has a few grand kids himself. Hayden went right to him. For some reason Hayden loves men. At Hayden's daycare there is a papa. He is the owners dad. Hayden smiles at him every morning. Some days he will reach for him so that he can hold him. Everyday when I pick Hayden up I tell him I love him and missed him. Today he gave me the biggest hug after I said that. Once we got home after the shots, I told him again that I loved him he gave me another hug. I said it to him several times and he kept on hugging me really tight. The last time he gave me slobber kiss. His personality is starting to come out. He is so laid back like David and such a good baby. The girls at his daycare are always telling me he never cries he is always happy. I find that hard to believe because when he is at home with us he cries when he doesn't get his way. David and I are looking for a babysitter so that we can go to out every once in awhile. It is always good to have someone else here that we can trust if we need a hand. There hasn't been anything else going on. I am looking for Hayden a winter coat. I am having a hard time finding one that fits. The 18 months are big in the arms but okay everywhere else. The other size don't give him much room to grow.

Shopping

We have been so busy. David got called to go offshore at 1 am on Friday morning. He came home at 11 on Saturday. We let him sleep all day. Hayden and I went shopping. I haven't been to the mall here yet, so I decided to go. We found some really good deals at The Children's Place. In Midland, they didn't have that store and I love it. I am convinced that any store has more girl clothes then boys. The girls always seem so cute. We also went shoe shopping for Hayden. Most stores don't carry half sizes for toddlers. His size 4 shoe is almost to small. The size 5 are huge. I guess I am going to have to look online. Shoes are something you want to try on to make sure they fit. After Hayden's nap we went to Old Navy. I bought him some long sleeves shirts. I always buy clothes for him ahead of time. For some reason he had a lot of sweaters but not many long sleeved shirts. I have been trying to get Hayden to eat out of a plate. We usually just dump the food on his high chair tray. He has been doing really good. A few months ago he would just throw the plate. He now eats whats there and when he is finished he picks it up and hands it to you. Today we are going shopping for a twin bed for him.

The Numbers

Today, we went to have Hayden's 12 month check-up. He now weighs 25 pounds and is 31 and half inches long. He is in the 75 percentile for his weight and 85 for his length. He is such a good kid. He is now going to different people. He will follow anyone. I have been letting him walk around the store when we go shopping. He loves it. He is getting better at holding your hand. Tuesday, was the first time that laughed at something he did. He had a can full of food and was throwing the can up in the air. Every time he would do that food would fall out. He would crack up laughing. He has been so tired lately. He has been going to bed at 6 or 7. He even skips dinner sometimes. He is slowly getting better at trying to sleep in his bed. I am thinking that this weekend we will go shopping for a twin bed for him. Work is going good. I am starting to enjoy it more. This will be my first week that I have been there everyday. It is starting to get cool here. Hayden must be in between sizes because his 12-18 months pants are a little big. Today he wore a the cutest sweat suit. David and I are finally feeling better. The doctor put Hayden on vitamins. I am going to take Hayden to an allergist in a few weeks. We will see if he is allergic to anything.

What a week round 2

Well, I thought last week was a pretty rough week. The events that happened after Monday got worse. Karen left our house Tuesday afternoon. She went to help out Joe with Ava. On Thursday she ended up going to the ER and then got admitted to the hospital for heart problems. So David tries to call me on my cell phone and I don't answer. So he calls the school and the sectary tells me my husband needs you to call him. I ended up leaving work right away and we packed and were on the road to Houston. Karen is doing a lot better. Anyways, we had a party to plan and things to get done. We were busy the whole weekend. Hayden had such a good birthday. He got a lot of presents and money which goes in his college fund. He had a blast. We bought a ton of food and didn't need all of it. He had 3 servings. His favorite was the hamburger. He loved his birthday cake. I made my first cake from scratch and the icing too. It was really fun to make his cake. It turned out so cute. The only problem was it was hard to transport. I am thinking about taking a cake decorating class. He was so tired after the days event. We have his 1 year check up on Thursday. I am wondering how he is doing. I am probably going to delay his shots until he gets pass all of this sickness. I want to make sure he is healthy. Here are a few pictures of the party.

I added some to Picasa. I glad that we are home. Hopefully Hayden will get back into the routine of things. During the trip we also didn't give Hayden a bottle during the day. He still gets one in the morning and night. I think next month the night one will be the next to go. He doesn't care for it when he has a full belly.

What a week

We have been so busy. Hayden has been sick. I am not sure what is going on but every week since we have moved he has been sick. I am going to research some natural products and see what we can do. I am not sure if it is being in a new environment with different germs or what. He was never this sick back in Midland. It could also be that now that he is walking and picking up things everything is going in his mouth. On Friday, the daycare called for me to pick him up because he was throwing up. So we went to the doctor Friday afternoon. The doctor said it was something viral like always and to wait it out. So we did. He didn't throw up anymore. So on Saturday we decided to take him to the pumpkin patch. He loved it. He was walking everywhere. He loved the petting zoo. He really enjoyed watching all of the kids run around. We got a lot of cute pictures. So then on Sunday he started drooling a ton. We must of went through 5 or 6 shirts and a few bibs. Not to mention that I changed my shirt 3 times. He was running a fever. Well I figured that he was teething. Today he still has a fever. So I called the doctor and asked if we needed to bring him in, she said no. She told me that it wasn't teething because his fever is to high. It is probably something viral. So needless to say it has been a rough couple of days. For some reason it is worse at night. He tosses and turns and cries a lot. He hasn't been himself. We have taken Hayden to the doctor 11 times since September. This is not including his follow up from tubes, the dentist, or the eye doctor. I hoping we can find some answers. If he keeps this up I might have to quit my job and stay home with him. Karen is coming down tonight to help so that I can go back to work. I have been praying for him and asking God that we can find answers or the root of the problem. So please pray for him. Anyways we are planning Hayden's party. I am really excited to come home. I can't wait until I see his reaction to everything.

The Future

I am looking towards getting my Masters. I am not sure where yet. David's work schedule is so crazy I can't really depend on him to watch Hayden every night. I am thinking that I will do something online. I want to find a University that has a good reputation for Education. I would like to finish in 2-3 years. One day I would love to open a daycare and/or preschool. I am wanting to learn more about the whole process. I thought maybe I would get my MBA. I am not sure if I could learn through that though. I know my calling is Special Ed. I will probably go take the test so I can get my certification in Special Ed. I have such a loving heart for those kids. They seriously melt my heart. When I see them I talk to them or do some basic sign language. I think a daycare for special needs children would be something I would love doing. Many parents have to quit there job and stay home with their child. This would allow parents to have an option. Anyways, I have been making homemade mac and cheese. The boys love it. Hayden eats all of his serving and more. I love the fact that I can serve healthy options to my family. I have been trying to make a lot of things from scratch. It has been fun and a learning process. Also, very time consuming. I like to cook though. I got a food saver for Christmas and I go to Sam's and stock up on meat. I spend the whole day cooking and packaging my food. It makes things a lot easier during the week.

Playing

We have been having a lot of fun playing with Hayden. He getting fun to play with as he gets older. David has this old milk crate that Hayden decided to climb in. Once he was in he was struggling to get out. It was really funny. Because he could touch the ground with the other foot but was losing his balance. Hayden loves books he will pull out different books and look at the pictures. He is now getting to the point where he will bring the book to us and we will try to read him the book or look at the pictures. Today he took a can that had a lid and sat for like ten minutes. He would take the lid off and put it back on take it off again. Well he dropped the lid and he picked it up and tried to put it on again. It wouldn't work because it was upside down. Well he knew it went on there and got so fed up with it that he just threw them across the living room. I am telling you this is David and I. I am staring to see myself in him. He is always on the go like I am and he is figuring stuff out like David. He is truly our kid. He also decided that he wanted to crawl behind the couch. Which he did several times because we keep our computers there. I am looking for some mommy and me classes that we can join. I am trying to find stuff that will be somewhat educational or have a purpose. There is a art program that has mommy and me classes but I am not sure of the time yet. If David isn't working on Saturday we are going to take Hayden to the pumpkin patch and let him pick some pumpkins. I think he is going to love it. He loves picking up things. We are also going to attempt to carve a pumpkin as a family. I have a feeling that Hayden will be eating everything.

Greek

Today we went to eat Greek food. David didn't care for it but I loved it. We have been trying to eat at different restaurants. We haven't ate any Cajun food yet. I think we might try that next weekend. We haven't really been doing anything lately. David went to Cameron yesterday for work. It was one of the hard hit areas by hurricane Ike. He said there were boats and cars on the street, because of the water rising. Hayden is feeling a lot better. Since he had his tubes in he has been sleeping better. We are trying to limit how many bottles he has. We are down to 3 a day. We have also began giving him soy milk. He is on soy formula so we stayed with soy. I guess we might switch to regular milk in a few months.

Early Birthday

Here are a few pictures of Hayden enjoying his birthday present.

I am not sure what bug Hayden's got put he has been throwing up. Today when I picked him up from daycare he threw up in the car. Man it was everywhere. He then laid on the couch and has been sleeping since 6. He has been up a few times. It seems that he is getting sick all the time. I am not sure if its daycare or just a new environment. I am hoping that it will pass. He was never this sick in Midland. David will take Hayden back to the doctor in the morning just to make sure everything is okay. Hayden has never been the one to sleep. I guess his isn't feeling good. He is usually up and getting into everything.
