Remember when

This picture turned out so cute. It reminds me of myself.

As many of yall know I still sleep with a blanket. When Hayden gets tired he will pick up his blanket and suck his thumb. He will usually find a pillow to lay down on. Lately he has been picking up anything for a blanket. He got a wet towel out of the dryer and walked around the house with it. I am hoping Hayden doesn't keep a blanket for a long time. He has also starting to picking up his stuffed animals. He loves to carry two of anything around the house. We also went back to the ENT for the final check up. Hayden's ears look great. We also took the tape off of his skin tags. His skin tags are gone, the skin is so smooth. They are a little pink from the stitches but in a few months the skin will be white. He will have a small scar that you can barely see.

A day with Daddy

Hayden and David spent the day together. David took Hayden to the doctor to make sure he didn't have something serious. He was fine. I guess he just caught a bug. The doctor was so surprised that a dad was bringing their kid in. She told David "Men never bring there kids in by themselves". Hayden is feeling a lot better. Today Hayden climbed on the coffee table so much that David had to take the table out. Hayden even climbed on top of the toilet seat. He almost had done it yesterday with me. We bought Hayden his little climbing thing and slide this weekend. We were going to wait till his birthday to give it to him, but he couldn't wait. He loves it. He climbed up the slide several times tonight and the played in it. He hasn't figured out how to go down the slide by himself though. I am sure he will be a pro at sliding in no time. He wore himself out. He ended up going to bed at 6:45 without a bottle or a bath. He was so sweaty after playing his head was soaked. David reloaded my computer because I got a virus on it. We are looking for the cd for the printer. When we find it I will be able to put pictures of him playing with his birthday present. Hayden said dad for the first time today. He usually calls David dada. I am not sure if he knows what dad is or even if it means David. He says a lot of the same sounds for a lot of things. He loves to call for me in the middle of the night and for David in the morning when wakes up.

Climbing

I thought yall might enjoy this one!

Even though he is sick he has been so active. Yesterday, he climbed on top of the table again but climbed at the other end. He usually steps onto the bottom and uses that to climb up. This time he didn't. He held on to the edge and pulled himself up. He is so strong. It was so funny because the whole time he was grunting. It amazes me how smart he is. I show him how to do something once and he has got it figured out. I was cleaning the bathroom and he watched me flushed the toilet. When I put the lid down and locked it, he went over to flush it. He has gotten to big for his changing table so we have been changing him on the floor. I left a dirty diaper out and he picked it up and took it to the diaper genie. Lately he has been into anything he can take apart. He has Mega Blocks, which are like legos but smaller. He loves to stack a few then take them apart. His dump truck has places to stack the legos and he takes them out of the truck and builds there. He is always figuring things out and never forgets.

Eye Doctor

Today we all went to get our eyes check. Hayden sat really still and let the doctor look at him. He had good vision, he couldn't tell if it was 20/20 but at least we know he doesn't need eye glasses. I need new glasses which I am not surprised. My vision is horrible. David was referred to an allergist. He is having problems with his eyes because of his allergies. Hayden has been running a fever since yesterday afternoon. We aren't sure why. We thought it was due to his tubes but we went to the ENT and he said that his ears looked fine. If his fever does doesn't break by tomorrow we will go to the pediatrician. The highest it has been was 103.7. We have been switching between Tylenol and Motrin. The medicine has been working be we haven't gotten a normal temp, yet. I am not sure if he caught a virus when he went into the hospital for surgery. He played all day and didn't act like he was sick. He was talking and jumping. His fever could be from his teeth because he is getting one in. He has never ran fever with his teeth so who knows.

A Success

His surgery was a success. Dr. Barry said that his right ear had a scab where the pus ruptured. He had to vacuum the fluid and the pus inside his ears. He couldn't see anything pass the ear drum until he got into surgery. The anesthesiologist gave him some medicine to put him asleep but it never made him sleepy. It was supposed to make him drowsy and or kind of tipsy. I am not sure why but he was jumping and talking the whole time. They ended up putting an iv instead of just the mask. They also removed his skin tags by his ear. The ended up putting stitches and glue there. There was a piece of cartilage that had to be removed, so he shaved it off. An hour after recovery time he was walking around. He is doing really well. We are doing ear drops to fight the ear infection. I am hoping the drops will work. He is such a trooper. The only thing he cried about was the iv in his hand. I added more pictures. My goal this weekend is to upload a few videos. We are all doing well. We can't wait until we go home for his birthday.

Wow

A lot of things have happened in a few days. Hayden now knows how to climb up on the coffee table. He climbs up on the table and then walks across it. He also heard one of his toys say bye bye and he said bye and waved his hand. He is so smart. I am always wondering whats next. He is getting two teeth in. The ones next to his top teeth. Tomorrow is the big surgery day. I am nervous for him. I know everything will be okay. David is not able to be home all day so I hope Hayden won't be to bad. David and I have been trying to watch what we eat. I have been counting calories and measure a lot of the food we eat. It has helped in 2 weeks I have lost 4 pounds. We also got a Wi Fit and have been doing that at night. It is a lot of fun, the exercises are so neat. I love the fact that it weighs you so you can get an accurate weight. We have been planning Hayden's party. It is going to be at Mimi and Pop's house (David's grandparents). We are going to get Hayden a climbing playhouse that has a slide. I hope that he will climb there instead of the furniture. We are going to put it in his room. I have a feeling that he will spend a lot of time there. I am going to try to put pictures up tomorrow. I have some videos that I need to load.

Tubes and the Dentist

We have been so busy with all the appointments. Yesterday I took Hayden to the dentist. He got his teeth looked at. He did really well. He let the dentist look inside and sat still. We are going back in 6 months. He might get his teeth cleaned them. It really depends on if he is going to cooperate. The doctor also showed me that another tooth was coming in. One right next to his top right tooth. It seems that he is getting them in all at once. We are having his tubes surgery on Tuesday. We were going to have them put in on Friday, but got it moved up. I am hoping that this will stop all of the ear infections. Hayden has been on the go. He is now reaching and pulling things of the table and counter. He even can reach the door handles and plays with them. I can't believe how tall he is. He is a growing boy.

Another one

Well Hayden and I stayed home again due to another ear infection. Yesterday his eyes were getting crusty and his nose was running. I thought it was just allergies because we haven't been giving him some Singular. Well it didn't work. He had a low grade fever so I gave him some medicine. I took him to the doctor this morning just to make sure everything was okay. Well it wasn't. His left ear was pussy and red. He finally is taking a long nap. Last night David was up with him for 4 hours trying to get him to sleep in his bed. It has been a rough weekend. David has been a huge help. We have had a doctor appointment a least once a week since we moved here. We have been trying to keep Hayden out of our bed. We have gone one week. Since he has been sick we have been laying with him on the couch until he falls asleep. We went to a great church on Sunday. It kind of reminded me of Stonegate. I loved the Praise and Worship team. The pastor is a little old but had funny jokes.

100th post

I can't believe that this is my 100th post. It is so crazy. I guess I have been blogging a lot. I actually enjoy it. Yesturday, Hayden and I went to the ear, nose, and throat doctor. We had to follow up because we were seeing one in Midland. Hayden has been on antibiotic for a month and he still has a little bit of fluid in his left ear. The doctor Barry said that since he still has fluid in his ear after a month of treatment he needed to put in tubes. He said if we didn't the fluid would come right back after a month. We are planning to do the surgery at the end of October. We are trying to work the surgery around David's schedule. I am glad that the surgery will help. He won't be pulling on his ears and in pain. We are also going to get his skin tags removed since he will be under. They will put in tiny stitches and remove the cartilage under his ears. We also spent 2 hours at the ATT and store. David got an I-phone that he loves. Since he got it he hasn't put it down. I don't have school today, due to the hurricane. We have gotten some rain but nothing to bad. The winds have picked up a bit too.

Going

We have been pretty busy. Hayden has been grinding his teeth. I have no idea why, but it drives me nuts. We have a dentist appointment in a week, which he needs. We have been not putting Hayden in bed with us. Sometimes we would let him fall asleep in our bed and move him to his bed. Now we hold him until he falls asleep then move put him into his crib. He is getting way to big to keep that up. The last few nights have been rough but hopefully it will get better. We are thinking about making his crib a bed or buying him a bigger bed. For some reason he will sleep on the couch, floor, or our bed but not the crib. David and I have been taking turns getting up with him. Hayden has been going to sleep around 7:30, which means he gets up at 5 or 5:30. David has gotten up with him lately. I have been sleeping in which is nice. Hayden and I have been playing Hide-n-Seek, which he loves. He has gotten really good. It used to take him a while to find me but now he knows where to look. He is starting to show his personality and laugh at stuff that is actually funny. He is also starting to figure stuff out. He knows how to close the doors, open and close the dryer, open the toilet seat lid, and picks up everything and carries it. I had groceries in a sack and he carried it all around the house.

Movie Theater

Today we went to church in a movie theater. David thought it was so strange. He told me after church that he kept thinking how dirty the floor was that Hayden was playing on. They had mats down on top of the carpet. I guess it wasn't good enough for him. His perspective in life has changed since we had Hayden. This one of them. He is always wanting to make sure Hayden is living in a safe and clean environment. Needless to say I don't think we will be going back there. We are going to try a Baptist church here. From the website it seems a little more upbeat then a First Baptist Church. I hope that we can find a church that we can get connected with. We loved our old church in Midland. After today David said I wish we could go back to Stonegate. I loved it there. It is back to work and school for Hayden and I. I am ready to go back. I was reviewing my lesson plans and I am excited about this weeks lesson. We are going to have a fun week. At Hayden's daycare he makes different Art projects. I am going to frame them and hang them in his room. There are really cute! Karen gave Hayden a family picture with Micah and Joe. It is a magnet and he love to look at it. When he pulls it down I tell him who it is. I am going to make a list of whose pictures that I have so we can add other family members to our fridge.

The numbers

Here is a cute picture of David and Hayden.

Yesterday Hayden had a doctors appointment. We missed his nine month check up so we played catch up. I love his new doctor she must have spent an hour with us just watching Hayden and listening to him talk. She was really checked him out. Hayden weighs 23.5 pounds and is 30 1/2 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile. That didn't surprise me! She said he is looking fine and growing good. She was surprised that he was walking so well. She looked in his ears and said that there wasn't any fluid in his ears so that is good. We have a follow up with an ENT in two weeks to make sure the fluid hasn't returned. I am glad because I didn't want to have tubes put in Hayden's ears. Since I have been home with Hayden he has been crying when David leaves. He will follow David around the house when he is getting ready for work. He will wait by the bathroom door for him. He even sticks his fingers under the door! Hayden gets so excited when David comes home. He runs to him with his arms up. It is so neat to see how much Hayden loves his Dad.

Safe

We got home early this morning, around 2. The drive was okay. There was some traffic. It rained the whole way home. When we arrived there were a lot of trees and branches down. Today there was a lot of tornado and thunderstorm warnings. We were glued to the the TV. Some places here are flooding. They are now opening up stores and gas stations. We didn't know that there was a curfew here, but it was lifted today. There will be no school until Monday. Hayden and I get to hang out some more. Hayden was so glad to be home. He missed his bed. He slept really well once he got out of his car seat. He was a pretty good traveler; he cried a bit on the way home. We are going to try to go to the doctor tomorrow. He has a check up. I am not 100% sure if they will be seeing patients, so we will see. We have done so rearranging and packing up a few boxes. Mimi and Pop gave us a table and chairs for our dining room so we sat down as a family in our own home for the first time. Thanks Mimi and Pop! We are glad to be home and to see that nothing isn't damaged and that we are safe. I have been researching different college funds for Hayden; since we are living in a new state I am not sure it we can use Texas's fund or switch to Louisiana. So we are trying to find the best plan for Hayden. We want to make a good investment for his future. One thing that I was reading about Louisiana's plan was they would match your investment based on your income. We can't decide what to do or which route to go.

Hurricane

We are in Houston. We will be leaving tonight. We are hoping that the weather isn't to bad. We left Saturday at 4 in the morning. The traffic wasn't bad. It took us four hours to get here. We are hoping that traffic won't be to bad when we leave. We are worried about our apartment. From the weather reports it seems like we are just getting a lot of rain. They canceled school today and tomorrow. David hasn't heard anything about his work. We have enjoyed our time here. Everyone is glad that we are closer. We get to come home more. Hayden is doing good. He is talking a lot more. Saying a lot more sounds and syllables then before. I am not sure if it is because there is so much going on here or that he is just getting older who knows. He is beginning to know his family and starting to recognized their faces. Hayden is not used to the humidity here. When we go outside he gets so hot. It didn't dawn on me that he has never lived in this kind of weather. We are going to try to take Hayden to the park and get some pictures of him playing.
