TV Shows

Since it is summer we have been watching a lot of TV shows. I can't wait until Big Brother comes on. That is my favorite show. I also enjoy watching John and Kate Plus Eight, which David hates. I guess he never wants us to have 8 kids. It can been really crazy. Another show that I like is Baby Borrowers. It started on last week. It comes on NBC. It is hilarious, these teenage couples live together and get different aged kids and take care of them for 3 days. It is really shocking and reminds people how hard it is to work, have kids, and keep up with day to day stuff. I think it is so funny because it is so true. Many times you think having kids is a breeze and it won't be that bad. I wish every teenage kid could go through this so that they know its not a piece of cake. David and I did a lot of growing up when we had Hayden. We are learning fast and enjoying every minute of being a parent. The best part is seeing your child's face light up when they see you. It really gets to David. David loves Hayden it so amazing how much he enjoys spending time with him. They play so well together. Hayden loves for David to blow on his neck and to be tickled. Hayden is getting to the point where he will follow you were every you go. He loves to "help" his dad play computer.

Clapping and Standing

Hayden is learning so quick. I have been working with him on clapping. I will clap and then take his hands to clap. For about a week or two we have been practicing. Yesterday he finally started clapping on his own. It is so cute, he will clap and then laugh and laugh. He thinks it is so funny. He is easily entertained. Hayden has also been pulling up and then standing not holding on to anything. He just stands there looks around and then falls. He isn't quite sure what to do after he is standing. It won't be long until he is walking. Once he figures out he can move his feet, he will be off. I am thinking by August he will be walking. He is so much fun and is happy all of the time. He is now crying when David or I drop him off at daycare. He doesn't do it everyday, only when he sees us leaving. I added pictures the other day. I am going to have to take some pictures and videos down from Picasa because we are close to reaching our limit. If yall want any pictures or for me to keep certain things up let me know.

To Build or to Buy?

It is finally time to buy a house! I am so excited. All of our hard work finally paid off paying off credit cards, going to school, saving money, and improving our credit scores . Our lease is up on our apartment at the end of July. We were going to try to buy a house buy then, but we decided that we really need to spend time looking for the right house. We started searching but then discovered that if you get a builder to build for you it will cost about 80-90 dollars a square foot. When you buy a house after the building process is complete it cost 100-110 dollars a square foot. It would be quicker to buy a house instead of build one. We aren't sure what we will do at this point. Next week I think that we are going to talk to builders. One thing when we found out when we were getting approved for a mortgage was that you have to have above a 620 to even get qualified for a home loan. The mortgage companies pulled both of our credit and they said above 700 is A plus credit score. This meant we qualified for a lower interest rate. We have been talking about buying an acre in Greenwood, which is right outside of Midland. We get to have some land and get to be out in the country. We had been figuring that 200,000 dollar house would cost us 2,000 dollars a month with taxes and insurance. It is going to be cheaper then that about 1,600 dollars a month. I don't think we want to spend that much on a house but who knows. We just want a newer house because of all of the allergy issues. One negative thing is that you have to have a lot of money saved anywhere between 10,000- 20,000 dollars for all of the closing costs and down payment. I knew we had to pay a down payment but I didn't know that closing costs are that high.

Growing

Well Hayden has grown so much. We are looking for a new car seat for him. I have been researching brands and trying to find the safest one for him. He is eating 3 meals a day and still taking 40 ounces of formula. I have been giving him dry cereal now and he loves it. I think he is getting teeth. He has been really clingy and drooling like crazy. Hayden is now wearing size 12 months clothes I packed all of his 6-9 months clothes up last weekend. David and I have been eating healthy. I think in July we are going to join the YMCA. This will be so much fun. We have been really busy. Hayden and I have been passing a cold back and forth to each other. All day Saturday I slept. I felt a lot better. Hayden was still sick on Sunday so we decided to stay home from church. We found a great church. Heather our baby sitter goes there. She mentioned that we should try it. I love it. The preacher is so down to earth and tells you like it is. On Father's day he preached a really good message. I was about how we raise our kids. The biggest thing I learned is that when we screw up and don't listen to God. He doesn't yell and scream at us and give us a lecture. He tells in a clam way and gives us ways to follow him. If we want our children to behave and listen. We need to do the same with God. We can't ask our children to do something we don't do like reading the bible everyday. I have made it a point everyday to read my bible and take 5-10 minutes to pray and reflect on what I read.

Baseball game

We have been so busy. David is home from his interview. We will find out in a week or so if he got the job. I think we are going to try to stay here. He has several places to choose from that he wanted to go but I want to start my job and buy a house here. I am sure several of yall will be disappointed that we aren't going to move closer to home. We aren't really sure what will happen. We had a really bad storm Monday and Tuesday night. Our power went out and we just got the internet back on. At my school we have a well that pumps water for us to use. The storm blew over the pump house and caused a pipe to burst therefore leaving us with no water. We can canceled school yesterday and today. Tonight we are going to go to the Rockhounds game. It will be fun a lot of people are going from my school. We will see how Hayden does because his bedtime is at 9 and the game starts at 7. We might have to leave early.

Father's Day and Stuff

We have been so busy. On Saturday Hayden and I woke up early and went shopping. We left the house at 8 and didn't come back to 11. It was a lot of fun to spend the morning with him. He loves to go out. He usually sits in his stroller or the basket and looks around. While we were out every guy that we saw, Hayden would say dada and raise him hands for them to pick him up. It was funny because he doesn't understand that not every man is dada. David had a really good Father's Day. I had a scavenger hunt for David to find his gifts. It was hilarious to see David searching the house for clues and trying to find his presents in different places. Hayden is doing so much now. He has figured out how to open the kitchen cabinets. He is always wanting to dig for things in the cabinets. He loves to pull out the pots and pans and bang the lids together. He is also saying mama now. If I leave a room he will crawl to come and find me. On Saturday I needed some flour so I was gonna run to the store really quick. Hayden was going to stay home with David. When I handed Hayden to David he cried 3 different times. Hayden has never refused to go with David. It was shocking to me because I thought Hayden favored his dad more. Since David quit his job he has to take his money from his 410K and put it in a IRA account. We aren't sure what to do with it or if we should just pull the money out. We would prefer for it to stay in some type of account. David has been researching what to do. If yall have any suggestions e-mail us.

Blogging

Many people always ask why do you blog? I think it is a neat way to keep track of day to day life. Five years from now I am not going to remember what I did, or when Hayden reaches certain milestones. I kept a journal when I was pregnant with Hayden. It is neat to look through a year later and reminisce on what happened a year ago. I love the fact that I can add pictures with the blog because it allows me to put a picture with words. It is easier for me to remember that way. I also keep a baby book for Hayden but it doesn't go in detail and I can't added my own thoughts. I would encourage you to blog even if is a few sentences month. My favorite part about Blogger is that you can look at each months. I love looking back to see how much Hayden has grown and what he did 3 months ago.

Back to Work

Yesterday was my first day back for summer school. I got two new kids so now I have 9 kids. I am so busy. It is nice to be back at work and have something to do. When I come home Hayden and I are taking naps. Hayden is doing really well at daycare. I thought since he had been home with us that he would cry for David and I, but he isn't. He has been playing a lot and has been really happy. His teacher says he picks on the girls there. He pulls their hair, steals their toys, and hits them. I hope soon he will understand that he needs to be nice to his friends. I think that it is so funny because he is the biggest one there but not the oldest. David has been busy contacting other companies so we will see what happens. We have been trying to go for a walk every other night. We have been walking at least 2 miles. It has been so hot here. Last week it was in the 100's every day. The only good thing is that there is a breeze.

Making pudding and getting stuck

Today we had a lot of fun with Hayden. Lately, he has been so silly and happy. He is such a sweet boy. Hayden tried pudding for the first time today. It was really fun. I am a believer in allowing him to help me do everything, even if it makes the job ten times harder. I think it helps him grow and allows him to develop language quicker. He helped make the pudding today and attempted to eat it with a spoon. He poured the mix, milk, and stirred with a whisk. I wish I could he gotten pictures of all of the action, it made such a mess. When we were done stirring he licked the whisk. When I was making lunch David and Hayden were playing. David got up to get a drink and Hayden got stuck. We aren't sure how he manged to squeeze into the area where all of the electronics are, but he did. It took both of us to get him out. Every time he kept on grabbing stuff and wouldn't let go. I told David that he is so his kid because if there is a way he will figure it out. Since I have been home so much I added new pictures and videos.

Interview

Well there has been a lot of interest in David. He has an interview on Monday with Baker Hughes. This will be his 3rd interview with the company. The job will be in Corpus Christi. We aren't sure what we will do. He is going in with a opened mind. We aren't sure where we want to be, but it would be nice to be close to home. I am so excited about my job here in Midland so David doesn't want to have to move if it is something I enjoy. We will wait and see. I have been going to training for MISD and today I get to stay home. David has been staying home with Hayden everyday so he was excited to sleep in and have help. David has been doing really good with Hayden. Most husband couldn't handle staying home with a baby for the entire day, but David enjoys it. I think he is going to miss staying home and spending time with us. We are going to go to the Drive In theater tonight. It will be a lot of fun since we haven't been out in awhile.

Don't Leave

Since we have been home so much, Hayden is now crying when David or I leave the room. I have been going to some training this week for MISD. When I leave and close the door I can hear Hayden crying. It breaks my heart. The same thing happened when David left to go check the mail. Hayden is also drinking a lot of milk. The past two nights Hayden has been drinking 12 ounces of milk at 9 then 8 more at 2 in morning. I hope that he is just going through a growth spurt, because it will cost a fortune to feed him. He is not eating as much cereal though. I am not sure why, but he eats a lot of yogurt. I just can't offer him yogurt at every meal. I am having so much fun in my training classes. I am so excited to start teaching in my Pre-K class. I also found out that I will be making more money then I thought which is just icing on the cake. David had a phone interview with a company here in Midland. So pray that this is the right company for him to pursue. We also baby proof Hayden's room. He was getting into everything in the living room. It is nice that Hayden has a big enough room that we can put all of his toys out. We aren't also constantly telling him no, stop, and quit. He is actually playing. I have added some more videos and few more pictures.
