Joyful

joyful...is it so? After a crazy month of work, school, and two kids, I think I might be getting the hang of it. I am enjoying this moment in time. I wish I could stop the world and make it freeze. Oh how I hate that Hayden will be five in less then a month and Ethan is talking and laughing and changing daily. I love my boys and the chaos it brings. Everyone asks do you wish you had a girl...umm no!! I love the loudness, playing, and the craziness they bring.  We have been busy and things are going good. Ethan loves to play and will smile at you when you smile. Hayden is learning memory versus and different christian songs. The boys (David included) run around and are so loud around here that I find myself saying will y'all just calm down...I can't hear myself think. Today, when I was cleaning Hayden's bathroom, I told David I can't imagine what it will look like with two boys in there, let's just go with SO disgusting. Ethan weighs 18 pounds and is so chunky. He weighs more then Hayden did at 4 monhs. He has a fat belly and still has a bald spot on the back of his head. He hates green beans. Hayden loves, I mean loves Legos! He has that weird David kind of brain. He is constantly taking the Legos apart and building new stuff. He likes to build things. It drives me nuts becasue he will have different Lego creations around the house. And FYI, if you move them they can fall apart! He has a love for animal facts and asks me the weirdest questions about them. Amy asked for a new pictures of the boys. Sadly I only have two decent ones and they aren't even that great. So mental note to self Take more pics!

4 months

I can't believe that he is 4 months old. I already find myself wanting that time back! Ethan is happy silly baby. He loves kisses on his cheek, when you kiss him he gets the cutest big smile. Oh that smile, how I love it. When he smiles it is so hard not to smile back and laugh. Things that Ethan can do:

1. Sleep through the night. He goes to sleep at about 9 and gets up at about 6. He has been off lately but for a good month it has been like that.

2. Roll over...man he is good and quick. He is also really strong he will kick and move around.

3. Tracks things really well. He is always looking for my voice. He loves to watch Hayden run around and finds him. He then smiles and laughs when Hayden comes close to him.

Ethan weighs 16 pounds, eats 5 ounces every 3 hours, and three bowl of cereal and fruit or a veggie. He wears a size 3 diaper and 6-9 months clothes. He loves baths and likes for you to talk to him and will talk back. He doesn't really cry when he does it is because he has a burp or he has a poopy diaper. He likes to eat his fists and still spits up a ton. He likes to be rocked at bed time and have a pacifier. If you aren't feeding him when he wants he starts talking to you and then it gets louder and louder. He hates loud noise and will cry when he doesn't recognize sounds in the house (the most common one the alarm, I think we ie Hayden and me set it off on a weekly)! Oh baby boy, you are a true joy and the highlight to our crazy hectic lives and so glad you keep us grounded and give me plenty of reasons to smile!!

Bike Riding

So Hayden is no longer a baby boy! This past weekend he learned how to ride his bike without training wheels. He has been dying to get them off and finally could do it. He hasn't mastered steering that well when starting off. Sometimes he will crash or ride on the grass when he starts out. It took him until Monday to figure out how to use the hand breaks. He learned it pretty fast! On Saturday, someone had to hold the bike and give him a little push and then he would ride it. Then on Sunday, if he had his pedals in a certain way he could ride. On Monday no help needed! I can't believe how fast he learned it. On Monday, he wanted to get a ramp out and start doing jumps and tricks. I had to tell him no way!! I don't even want to think what he will be doing in 6 months. He is such a dare devil and very brave. It takes a lot for him to get scared of things. When we got home and he was showing David he fell and got a huge scratch along his elbows. I am not sure how many times he crashed but every time he popped up and said I'm fine and kept on going. I am so proud of him, my almost 5 year old according to him.

Haydenisms

Oh how I love the things Hayden says. I don't always write them down but I try to make a mental note so I can remember the things. I honestly find my self cracking up and I can't keep a straight face when he says things. The one that I think is the cutest is:

Mom how do you say ______ in baby language. I need to know how to talk to Ethan. (I then say you talk to him like I talk to you). No mom he doesn't understand that he only understands the language that babies speak.

Dad can cook dinner, he makes soup and bread and it gets done at the same time.

I can't touch that the electricity is going to shock me and make me have crazy hair.

Come here big fat Ethan.

What does 2 = 2 =? (me you mean 2 + 2 =, no I don't mean that!

okay that is good for now because I can't remember anymore.

First Week of School

The kids started school two weeks ago. It has been a crazy busy two weeks. I have only had about 5 hours of sleep on school nights, but on Monday morning it was so WORTH it. I fell in love all over again. I love the start of the school year, especially teaching special ed because you have the same kids until fifth grade. I got to see my kiddos face light up when they saw me and how much they remembered about school. I love the hugs I get first thing in the morning and then again when it's time to leave. Hayden and Ethan have adjusted well to the schedule of getting up early. I think I am finally getting used to all the things that need to get done every night. I started back to college on Monday and after reading the syllabus it is going to be more work then I planned, but I guess that it is only for a few months and then I won't remember how bad it was. We are enjoying are house and love all of the room. We can spread out and have things quiet for David. One of my favorite things about the house is the surround sound. I love that I can hear what is on TV in the kitchen. Ethan has his four month check up on the 17th. We have Hayden's tube surgery schedule on the 5th of October so I am glad we get that done and over with. They boys are doing good and get along so well together. The picture above is their first day of school. They look so cute and big!!
