Baby Fever

Okay, so most of y'all know that we are expecting (okay technically I am)...anyways we wanted to have a baby for sometime. (The timing and all that will come next post). Okay, so we weren't totally expecting to get pregnant so fast. I think it was because we didn't want to get our hopes up. So I took a test the Friday before Labor Day. Negative. I was bummed but it was a little early too. So I waited....the waiting was the hardest part. I did another one on Labor Day. I got up around 6 and it was positive. I wasn't really sure how to tell David. Half of me wanted to jump in bed and shout the exiting news. But I figured that he wouldn't like that....so this is what I did.



It was on our bathroom counter. If you know David he is like a shower king. He loves showers and takes long ones EVERY morning. As soon he gets up that is his first stop after checking on Hayden. So that morning David didn't use our bathroom. So I knew several hours before him. He didn't go in there until he got dressed which was around 9 or 10. Needless to say David was kind of shocked that I kept it a surprised for so long. It was really neat to find out that I am pregnant on Labor Day, how random is that! I am not 100% sure on a due date because most likely I will have a C-section at 39 weeks, (I was 41 weeks with Hayden). So if we did the math right it would be around early May.

Hayden pumping

I took Hayden to the park Saturday night. He had a blast. I was so surprised because it was really busy. We stayed for about an hour. Most of the time Hayden was swinging. He loves the swing and not too long ago he started riding in a big swing, before he was using the baby swing. I still am on pins and needles because I am not sure if he holds on really tight. Of course there was a little girl next to him pumping her legs so he wanted to try. He learned really fast that swing is hard work. He got tired really fast. Everything she did he wanted to try...I wasn't for that!

Early Birthday

Okay so I've been busy and will be until October. I have class and volunteer work to keep my busy. So last weekend I went shopping for Hayden's birthday. He picked out Car theme things. So that meant that we had to make a cars cake. I found a cute cake made out of cup cakes. I was going to bake in on Monday but got stuck doing paper work. So this weekend it was my mission to complete it. I did take around 4-5 hours to do this. I am glad I did a trial run because I didn't know it would be so time consuming. The recipe called for vanilla cupcakes but we used chocolate. The liners were not bright red because of that. I think for his birthday I will do this in sections because it is easier. Hayden helped a lot so that might be why it took so long. I also made everything from scratch. I am so glad that years ago David talked me into making Hayden's birthday cakes. It has been really neat to see him grow and know that each year I can make a cake for any theme. Hayden really enjoyed seeing the cake come "alive".

Telling Time

Last week in school Hayden's class was working on telling time. I decided that he should practice at home. We have a clock in the living and Hayden looks at it a lot. He knows when it is 8'o clock because that's he bed time. I found a wooden clock and the hands move on it. A few minutes at night we practice. He loves that clock. He takes it in car with him on the way to school. He found my watch and wore that to tell time with. So I made a video of him telling time. **David thinks it is hilarious when he messes with Hayden or me when I am recording something....so you will see his feet and him tickling me at the end!!

Labor Day

It was so nice to have a 3 day weekend. It was a much needed break..although I didn't have much of a break. I was very busy. Work has me so busy until the end of the month. I have to say teaching isn't the hard part, its the paper work. I don't have any idea how to do it so that's the frustrating part. Once I get it figured out and feel confident I am hoping it will get easier. I also have been studying for my Braille test which is 2 1/2 weeks away. I feel like I live and breath school and work. This past week has been crazy I worked past 6 for 4 nights. I felt like I didn't see Hayden last week. So this weekend we spent a lot of time together. We attempted to go the the park twice, the first time it was closed and the second we lasted 15 minutes and then it started to rain. This week Hayden and I have been playing cars and racing. I am pretty sure Hayden has a very vivid and wild imagination. He is constantly thinking of games to play and tells me weird stories. Hayden is convinced Holly is another animal and we play that for awhile. Hayden has a cute song he learned about the muscles at school. I am hoping to make a video of it.

Couponing

This week there wasn't much for me to take a pictures of. Last week was great I spent about $5.75 for about $40.00 worth of stuff!! The paper towels are $6.99.
