Dada, bumps, and brusies

In the past few days a lot has happened with Hayden. Since Hayden has been pulling himself up he has been falling down and hitting his face. You can see in the picture that he has a bruise on his left eye brow. He has a bruise under his chin, near his eye brow, and a scratch on his forehead. You would think that when he fell he would stop. Nope he keeps on pulling himself up and falling. I told David that he is such a boy because he cries for a minute and then does the same thing again. Hayden has also said Dada today. It is so funny because he has been saying it when David is not in the room. I tell David to come and listen but he misses it. Finally, when we were putting him to bed he said it. It is so cute. I have been trying to video tape it but I haven't succeed.

Curious Boy

Hayden has been so curious. He is getting into everything. He has now discovered the dishwasher. He loves to push the bottom drawer back and forth. He also likes to get the silverware out of the basket. I have said it before that I think Hayden will be an engineer. He gets so mad because he cannot figure out how to get the plates out. He pushes, pulls, and bangs them together attempting to get them out. I have taken so many pictures of him yesterday and today of him getting into things. At times it is so cute but then its not. We took him swimming yesterday. The water was really cold so he didn't enjoy it as much as I though he would. We will try again in a few weeks, when the water is warmer. I thought that being home I would be really bored, but it has been nice to play with Hayden. I am taking so many pictures to capture these moments. What makes staying home so nice is that I am getting paid for it. David and I have been having a lot of fun. It is really neat that we can be home together. We have been enjoying the time off. Although David is ready to go back to work. He is so bored.

We're Back

We are home. It was so nice to get a way for a few days. I had so much fun, Hayden did too. We are all tired though. Hayden must have been going through dad with drawls because he would not sleep in his crib last night. Every time we laid him down he would look for us and then start to cry. He slept with David. He snuggled with him all night. We would move Hayden closer to me and he would roll over and cuddle with David. I hope that doesn't happen again tonight. Neither of us got a good night sleep. Hayden did really good on the flight home. He slept most of the way and didn't cry. He also crawled from the bathroom to the living room on his knees. He is also cruising. He will pull him self up and move from the chair to the table. I bet in a month or two he will be walking. I hope not. He has learned so much so fast. I think we are going to take Hayden swimming today. Tonight we are going to go to church. I will post pictures from Houston in a few days.

Job Update

David and I have been looking for jobs. I have a job offer in Midland, to work as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher. I will accept the job tomorrow. David has been working with a recruiter. We will see how that turns out. It is weird because we weren't sure if we were going to stay here, but now that I have a job offer with more money and retirement it is hard to decide. So I know that this will all work out. We are waiting for David to find a job here. Today, was my last day of school. We had a good time. It was water day. We went swimming and rented a huge water slide. Hayden is feeling better. I am excited to go to Houston. It will be fun!

Home with Dad

David and Hayden went to the doctor yesterday. Dr. Hart said it is a virus and it would pass in 5-7 days. He threw up this morning but drank 8 ounces. I am thinking that when when he drinks a lot of milk at a time it is making him sick. We have been giving him 2-4 ounces of milk and that seems to be working. She made us switched formula to soy. We will try that for awhile to see how he does. David was home with Hayden today and couldn't get him to calm down. He was crying really bad and upset. I came home and helped. He drank and bottle and finally went to sleep. David has been doing really good taking care of Hayden. Hayden is going to stay home again tomorrow.

7 Months Old

Hayden is 7 months old today. It is crazy how fast time is flying. He is such an amazing kid. At 7 months Hayden can:

army crawls
crawls short distances on hands and knees
gives kisses
knows his name
smiles for pictures
sleeps through the night
sucks his thumb to sooth him
pulls up to stand
reaches for you
can crawl to his parents
screams
eats 3 meals a day
drinks over 30 ounces of milk
weighs close to 20 pounds
is over 28 inches long

I am sure there is more but I can't think, I am to tired. He is a great kid. He is really a happy and handsome baby. He is my pride and joy. He truly is the second love of my life. Hayden has been sick he has been throwing up and has diarrhea. David and Hayden are going to see Dr. Hart in the morning. We tried to get in today but it was to late. I have added pictures and video.

Awards Night

We all had a good time last night. It was overwhelming to see how far my students have come. I felt like I was the parent of these children. It is truly amazing bond I have with all of my students. I never imagined I could get so close and emotional tied to these children. It make wanting to leave a struggle. It was really neat because David got to meet my kids families. Hayden behaved really good, he was quiet and sat in his stroller for a while. The speech therapist has a baby six weeks older then Hayden, so they crawled around and played together. Everyone was shocked to see how big Hayden was. They didn't realize how tall and chunky he is. I think we are going to go to dinner tonight. I have less then a week of school left. My last day of school is Thursday. I am excited to get a break and come to Houston for Nathan's graduation. David is still looking for a job. Since I might get my dream job he is starting to focus on finding a job here.

Busy Week

Man this week flew by. I usually try to post every few days but I haven't had time. Well on Sunday David cooked me dinner for Mother's day and I got to take a nap. Then on Wednesday we went to baseball game. It was a game with all kids, during school. So David went with me and my school. David and I enjoyed the game. What was the best part was that David got to see what a day in my shoes looked liked. It was a very easy day compared to my regular days. David came home and went to bed at 6:00. He finally fessed up to there is no way he could do my job every day. I think he finally understood how hard I work. It is so nice for him to appreciate all I do. I also have a second interview in a Head Start class where I can teach Pre-K. I am so excited about that. I can't wait. My boss basically said I have the job there after speaking to the principal. So we will wait and see. Tonight, our 2 year anniversary we get to go to an awards banquet for my school. So hopefully tomorrow we will be able to go out.

Peek a Boo

Hayden loves to play Peek a Boo. He tries so hard to cover his head again. I am trying to teach him to pull the blanket off of me. He hasn't learned that yet. He loves to look at our reaction. He is so much fun to play with because he laughs at you. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I think we are going to go to the park for a picnic. Hayden still doesn't feel that well yet. His other bottom tooth is coming in.

Quitting Weatherford

Well David finally quit Weatherford. He gave his 2 weeks notice last week. The way most service companies work is when you give your two weeks notice that is your last day. They keep you on payroll until your two weeks is up. We aren't sure what will happen from here. We are just praying and allowing God to open the right doors for us. David is looking for the "perfect job" no weekends, good benefits, not traveling, and something he enjoys. He has a few leads so we will try that. It was really hard for him to work and look for a job so this allows him to focus on looking. It is nice to have him home more. He is spending a lot of time with Hayden which he loves.

I Have a Tooth

Hayden finally has a tooth coming in. It is on the bottom right. Yesterday he didn't want to eat dinner. This kid always wants to eat so I wasn't sure what was wrong. So I was holding him and he started to drool like crazy, it was dripping down my arm and on to my elbow. He has never drooled that much. So I felt inside and there was tooth coming through. He has been chewing everything insight. He has also been a little fussy. I am guessing it is his teeth. The good thing is he is sleeping at night. I hope the other tooth comes in soon because I don't want to do this teething thing one tooth at time.

Still Sick

Well today I left work early. I am still sick. I am not sure how I got worse but I did. I felt really good then all of a sudden it hit me. I am having really bad sinus headaches. I came home and slept. David took care of Hayden. I feel like I didn't even get to see him because I spent most of the day asleep. I am so busy with work stuff. I can't believe that the school year is almost over. I am preparing for conferences and working on goals for next year. Hayden is doing a lot better. He is finally sleeping all night. I think he cries in his sleep but when we go check on him he still sleeping. He is also starting to reach for you. If you sit near him he will crawl towards you and try to climb. David said the other day that he pulled himself up. I haven't seen him do that yet, so I am anxious to see that. I have added another video and more pictures under April and May, enjoy.

Sick

Well it was a rough weekend. We have all been really sick. I think I got sick from school, then gave it to Hayden, and then David. I think we all got a cold. Not to mention the weather change. It was like 60 degrees on Saturday. It has been in the mid 80's and even the 90's. I can't wait until we have some consistent weather. Hayden seems to being do a little better today. Saturday night Hayden slept with us, that will never happen again. David and I couldn't sleep at all. He is a wild sleeper and on top of that he was having really bad asthma attacks. So we thought if he slept with us we can watch him and listen to his breathing. Needless to say we all attempted to sleep in on Sunday and Hayden took a 3 hour nap. Hayden has been doing so much. He can crawl and then sit up or sit up and then crawl. He is also saying different syllables when he cries. He is still a thumb sucker. I hope this won't be a hard habit to break. I think tomorrow I will add more pictures.

Videos

Well I finally figured out how to add videos to our page. I have a few that we have done in the last few months. I will have to get on David's computer to find ones when Hayden was younger. It is really neat to actually see them. I hope yall will enjoy them. They are under video folder.

Update

We are all doing fine. Hayden hasn't been sleeping good at all. He has now learned to crawl on his knees. He takes one or two crawls and then back to the army crawl. He even crawls in his sleep. It is funny because he tries to crawl all around his crib. David got an update on his knee. Basically there are 3 things wrong, they all have fancy names. He can't really do anything. The only thing that will help is to stay off of it. That is kind of hard with him working. So he has to try to take it easy. I am going to hand in my resume to some more schools tomorrow and I am debating on whether or not to apply to the Christian schools here. If the weather is nice we might take Hayden swimming if not then maybe to the park on Saturday.
